The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York held its spring gala Monday night. This year's ball was in honor of its exhibition "Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion." Celebs were paired with designers and I'm assuming that the fashion designers drew their inspiration from the celebs. Although I have to say that when I saw some of the outfits, it seriously made me wonder if the designer was actually inspired or out for revenge. Here are a few of my "what were they thinking" favorites and a speculative guess as to the method behind the madness.
KATY PERRY IN TOMMY HILFIGER
MADONNA IN SIR WALTER RALEIGH...er uh, LOUIS VUITTON
DIANE VON FURSTENBURG in her own design
[bra optional, but when you're her age, you should know better]
RIHANNA IN LOUIS VUITTON
ANNA WINTOUR IN VINTAGE CHANEL
[I guess now we know what Karl Lagerfeld was doing
when he came up with this little number]
And, last but not least, LEIGHTON MEESTER IN LOUIS VUITTON
[Some things are a given...never run with scissors, never spit into the wind
and never EVER design clothing when you are snockered]
