Eva...sweetie. Well first things first...welcome to your inaugural appearance on my fashion blog. So far, you have escaped my watchful eye. Mostly because either you or your stylist have been dressing you deliciously over the past several years. However, eventually the streak comes to an end, and this my dear is your Waterloo.
Not a horrible dress...if you're into napkin folding, but here are my issues with it.
First, the folded diamond design in the center of the dress, visually pulls the waistline out, thus creating a box shape rather than an hourglass shape. It really makes you look thick through the middle. I'm not sure why anyone would even consider this dress for that reason alone. In this case, diamonds are
not a girls best friend.
And then my other issue is the color. It's possible that the color was more lush in person and it just didn't photograph well, but whatever the case, it's just too dusky and muted for the red carpet and for your complexion. I think the color needed to have more contrast...which is kind of my ongoing bugaboo that celebrities and their stylists really need to think about how the dress and the red carpet play off each other.
So, here are a few dress selections that I think would have been better suited for the red carpet. Oh no...don't you even think about paying me. Your undying gratitude is reward enough.
