You don't tug on Superman's cape,
You don't spit into the wind,
You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger,
And you don't mess around with Jim.
...yea...that's a little how I feel about this post...but hey, I'm just going to throw caution to the winds of fashion and go for it.
...so Anna Wintour...fashion mogul of Vogue...on every fashion designers 'people to not tick off' list. And I'm just guessing...probably the muse for Devil Wears Prada...so...is it me, or do we have one of these 'the emperor has no clothes' type of deal? It reminds me of my ongoing befuddlement with Modern Art. Some muckety-muck says, "Hey, this is brilliant", and the rest of the world is too chicken to say, "Uh...we think you're off your meds". Stick with me kids...I know I'm on yet another tangent, but hopefully it will crazy glue itself together by the end. I give you example one...Kazimir Malevich's The Black Square.
The Black Square of Kazimir Malevich is one of the most famous creations of Russian art in the last century. The first Black Square was painted in 1915 to become the turning point in the development of Russian avant-garde. The momentous year of 1913 drew to a close. Malevich was soon destined to carve a name for himself in the history of art as the creator of a new movement in Russian painting - Suprematism. He spent the next eighteen months in his studio in Moscow, creating some thirty non-objective canvases.
This "work of art" is estimated to be worth $575 million and is housed at The Hermitage in St Petersburg.
...insert the sound of me scratching my head here...
Really people...it's a freekin' black square. Okay? If I produced that for my kindergarten art teacher, Miss Allison? Yea, she would have said, "Sweetie, great job of coloring in the lines, but let's put our creative cap on and ask Mr. Imagination to help us paint something that won't make mommy cry".
Anyway...back to Anna Wintour...
This is particularly fresh in my mind because of seeing her over and over at New York Fashion Week. Everyone fawning all over her and trying to gauge her 'yea or nay' on fashions next big trend. Seriously people...have you seen her hair??! Why would you give any credence to a person who has worn some version of a bob since they were in college?
And, as my faithful readers know, I am all about helping people in need...especially if it's fashion related. So, I've taken the liberty to put together some hair options for Anna...let me know what you think and I'll forward your comments onto her staff. [i'm totally giggling to myself right now...]
My personal opinion is that I like her with reddish tones and I think version 4 or 5 are my favorites. But yet again...what do I know, right?
Ohmygoodness...I've got to get to work! More to come tomorrow. Miss Bea
