Her Majesty's pleasure

Recently, WWD asked 29 fashion designers to take a stab at designing Kate Middleton's wedding gown. As I looked at the different sketches, the thought occurred to me that I think most of them buggered the jolly cracker by not factoring in the wild card in this whole shebang...ie: QE2. Which when you think about it, would really be a bummer to literally be marrying your 'prince charming' and yet pressured into wearing something that had gone through a royal checklist as long as a space shuttle launch. Anyway, here were a few illustrations that I found interesting, but in "no way" princess-worthy. Sorry to be such a negative Nelly here, but see what you think.

Lela Rose

Lyn Devon

Missoni
Nicole Miller

As for the actual gown, sources are speculating that British designer, Bruce Oldfield, will do the honors, which would be a fab choice. His gowns have a vintage classic flair to them...really elegant and beautiful. Here are a few of his designs to drool over.

See you at the nuptials, Miss Bea.
