Cycle 16 of America's Next Top Model...
yes, people, I admit it...I'm a closet ANTM fan...
...we all have our vices...so get over it! [smile]
Anyway...cycle 16 had everyone's panties in a bunch due to 6'2" gawky, geeky, clumsy, too-thin Ann Ward's win of the competition. There was something sweet about Ann, watching her develop as a model and seeing the characteristics that others saw as unattractive, actually catapulted her to success. It's the classic ugly duckling fairytale that for once came true. And what's not to love about that! I hope she remains shy and naive...although I don't know how she could in this business. But, it would be nice to see that charming quality about her never change. Here are her IMG test shots. I think she's fabulous and I wish her well!
PS/Anne, sweetie...eat some pasta or something...you really could stand to gain some weight. Or better yet, take some of mine...I do love to share...

Even though this little gal could be mistaken for a holocaust victim, she is exactly what runway designers like to see. That skinny gaunt ghostly look is the perfect frame on which to drape their fabulous designs, without taking much attention away from the fashion. Which I think is why they like to select very young teenagers, . . . before their face devlelops any real distinguishing character, and a very clean canvas onto which they can load on the makeup. I think pretty is for the pageants, especially after the super-model era.
