This is such old news, but I wanted to weigh in on the plethora of pink that was the real show stopper at the 2nd presidential debate. Interesting that both Michelle-O and Ann Romney wore the same color...maybe a coincidence, but certainly a nod to breast cancer awareness month. Finally...something we can all agree on. Bottom line, I loved the punch of color on both women, but wasn't all aflutter about the dress styles.
So if you haven't figured this out already, Mrs. O has a pear shape. She's a big girl...not fat, just has a little bit more in the badonk-a-donk. So usually, she emphasizes her waist and tries to either wear a fuller skirt on the bottom, or balance out the top. I get what she was going for here, but I think the super short jacket rather than distracting from her fuller hips, actually accentuates them.
Those of you under the age of 50 don't know this yet, but trust me, you will soon enough. Once you start that downhill slide to the no-estrogen zone, so does all the firmness that your upper arms (and other asundry body parts) used to have. Not that you need to be ashamed of that, but I'd rather that Ann had worn a longer sleeve. The other observation I have is that I feel the dress needs to be tailored. It looks loose on her and could be taken in at the waist and tapered closer to the body...unless there is something to the whole "temple garments" thing. If so, I can see why her dress was so roomy.
Anywho...another couple weeks and we'll know who gets the 'pink slip'. Miss Bea
