A friend of mine was reading my blog and double dog dared me to create a 'sensible' pair of shoes modeled and/or inspired by Louis Vuitton's 'Spicy' sandal...of which I dished on a couple days earlier in my series "Weapons of Mass Destruction". So here is the final product. I dug out an old pair of Impo mules that were already in the Goodwill donation box that I have out in my garage. Picked up a few things at JoAnn's and rumaged around in my craft room for other tschotkes that I didn't mind parting with. The result was 2 days of my kitchen counters being covered with mod podge, feathers, vintage buttons, pipe cleaners and Cheerios. (I couldn't find any big wooden beads, so I had to improvise with Cheerios. Important note. If you make something out of Cheerios, don't accidentally step on it. It's not pretty.) Here is the LV inspirational shoe, in the event that you've forgotten what they looked like.
***And here are mine, of which I've named 'Double Dog Dare'.***
Just so this little crazy exercise would not be in vain, I have listed these shoes for sale on eBay. You can view the listing
here. All proceeds, (I'm giggling even as I write this...like there will be any proceeds), anyway...all proceeds will be donated to Asia's Hope.
