shopping with benefits

It's difficult to think about fashion when there are so many who are suffering the after effects from Hurricane Sandy. However, 'The Cut' listed some retailers who are stepping up their relief efforts by donating a portion of their sales for a limited time to assist those hardest hit by the storm. Here are a few who are trying to make a difference.
  • Stylebop.com is pledging 10 percent of all sales between November 1–7 to the American Red Cross's efforts.
  • eBay set up a Hurricane Sandy page where users can browse items that benefit related charities.
  • The Coveteur is donating 100 percent of profits to the American Red Cross.
  • Penfield is donating $10 from every online purchase to the American Red Cross.
  • Reformation will donate 10 percent of online sales to the American Red Cross through November 8. 
  • BaubleBar is donating $10 to the American Red Cross for every $10 Buried Bauble purchased.
  • Twenty percent of all sales on Dannijo.com will go to the American Red Cross through Sunday.
  • Etsy shop GreenLinebyK will hold flash sales benefiting hurricane relief this Thursday and Friday, November 11 - 12
  • The Chilean-born, Chelsea-based artist, Sebastian Errazuriz, created his “I Still Love NY” and “Manhattan Blackout” tees by dip-dying the original tourist classic versions to resemble flood lines. 100% of all proceeds go towards hurricane relief efforts. (shopgreyarea.com, $40)
  • All proceeds of the sterling silver "Build Up The Giving" mini-hurricane necklace, designed by Joan Hornig, will go towards the relief organization of your choice. (joanhornig.com, $80.22)
  • Known for their mixed-metal lapis necklaces and statement cuffs, Gemma Redux will donate 30% of all website sales to hurricane relief, thru November 20th. Use code “sandyrelief” at checkout. (gemmaredux.com)
