Attention everyone. I'd like to make an official announcement.

As you may or may not know, I have been a devoted fan of American Idol since the very first off-key warble of a music star wannabe auditioned on my TV screen. Personally speaking, last year was a ginormous disappointment...starting with the lame contestants to Ellen Degeneres' anemic critiques to Simon Cowell leaving the show. But, I wiped my tears, held my head high and believed in the old adage...the show must go on. So, like everyone else, I'm playing out in my mind who the producers will select to replace Simon?

hmmm...Jim Carey? No...too funny and not musical.

let's see...Quinton Tarantino? Nah...no sex appeal...zippo-dee-doo-dah on the handsome meter.

uhmmm...Chris Rock? mmm...probably not. Limited vocabulary since the "f-word" would need to be bleeped to infinity.

The dream is dead people. I am officially not watching the show this season...or ever again. And fyi JLo...they're called belt loops. Look into it.

out on a limb

Okay...I'm going to go out a limb here and make an American Idol prediction. After watching last night's show, I do believe that Lil and Anoop should pack their bags and head for home. However, every season of AI, just about this time in the competition, there is a shocker. I personally think the producers do this to up the ratings and hysteria and voting etc. I know, I know...we the viewing public think that our votes affect the outcome, which is true to some measure...but ultimately, the producers are out for ratings. And that my friends trumps votes every time. So...all that to say that I think one of the front runners will go home tonight. And I'm going to predict [drumroll please] that Lil Rounds will stay and Danny Gokey will be voted off with Anoop.

If I'm wrong, I will happily admit it tomorrow.

Last night on AI, the theme was songs from the movies. All around a weak performance for all the idols. [Some might disagree regarding Adam Lambert, but for me, I've seen the same schtick from him in weeks prior.] Anyway, Danny, Lil and Matt...especially Lil and Matt, I'm thinking are going to be in the bottom three tonight...with either one of them getting the boot. I don't know why people get hung up on song selection. It seems easy enough. But maybe they can't get approval or licensing or whatever to do the songs that would really touch a sweet spot for the voting public. dear lil rounds

You're makin' me nervous Lil. Powerhouse talent and such a doll, but for whatever reason, you're second guessing yourself. A bit of advice...don't try to win American Idol. Don't concern yourself with trying to please the judges. Pick songs that you love to sing and just enjoy the ride.

Oh...and...if you don't mind me saying...whoever is dressing you needs to stop. Loved the little fringey dress the other week, but everything else has been...well let's say...less than flattering.

So, I went shopping online and came up with a few wardrobe items for you, and also some suggestions for songs that I think you'd clean house with. You are such an inspiring person and I really wish you all the best.
