Who knew the burka, of all things, could make it's way to the runways during the 2011 Fall fashion shows? I'm not sure I'm a fan as I've always viewed them as a repressive garment for middle eastern women. But the updated versions on the catwalks were certainly in the category of "things that make you go hmmmmm". Seeing the variety of designers who incorporated modern versions in their shows, it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see the burka, in some manifestation, become a fashion trend in the very near future.
